If you have any questions about exchange of contracts, watch this video:
Are you curious about the difference between the exchange of contracts and completion?
At the exchange of contracts stage, your deposit is paid, and all legal work by solicitors is completed. This step legally binds the property sale with a set moving date in mind. You’ll need to provide verbal or written confirmation to your solicitors to proceed. Once contracts are exchanged, the agreement is binding, and backing out could lead to financial penalties. However, you won’t incur penalties if the other party withdraws after the exchange.
At this stage, arranging buildings and contents insurance is crucial, which we’ll manage upon confirmation of exchange and sending copies to you and your solicitor.
Conversely, completion is when you receive the keys and officially move into your new property.
Lincoln mortgage broker Colin Baxter and his team are passionate about helping clients with mortgages and protection. You can see all of our Google Reviews on our Google Business Page but we’ve listed some across our website.
We also regularly post pictures of cards, cakes and gifts given to us by clients on our social media channels. Testament to the hard work of Colin and our team, the business was originally set up by Colin and his business partner Julie Ashley in 2011. Julie has since retired but Colin and the team are on hand to support with client enquiries.
Colin and the team are always committed to maintaining our high standards.
