What a week it’s been here at Mortgages in Lincoln! We wanted to share a few highlights from the past few days and show you a little behind-the-scenes peek of the work we’re doing, and the people we’re helping.

Revisiting Old Friends

One of our favourite moments this week was hearing from a client who came to us for advice nearly three years ago but decided not to buy at that time. Fast forward to now, and they feel ready to take the next step. We’ve always believed it’s important not to rush or push people, purchasing a home should happen when the time is right for you. We’re thrilled they’ve returned to us, and we can’t wait to help them find their dream home.

Demand Continues

Another highlight came when we met with an adviser who’s been following our recent rebrand and all our shiny new social channels. They loved our approach and reached out to see if they could come on board. It’s such a compliment to have someone appreciate the hard work we’ve put into rebranding, and our client delivery, and we’re excited about the possibility of expanding our team in the future.

Buy-to-Let Dilemma

This week, we also had a client drop by for advice on whether they should keep their current property as a Buy-to-Let or sell it to fund a new purchase. It’s not a one-size-fits-all answer, so we chatted with them about their finances, personal circumstances, and future plans. We want our clients to have all the information they need to make the decision that’s right for them.

Late-Night Mortgage Success

Sometimes, life doesn’t slow down at 5 p.m.! On Thursday evening (around 6:30 p.m.), we met with an existing client straight after they’d finished work. After a quick conversation, we were able to send across an acceptance in principle so they could show the estate agent they’re serious and get that all-important offer on their dream property. ‘Out of hours’ appointments aren’t uncommon here.

Team Training: Staying Sharp

On top of everything else, we found time for some crucial annual training for our team on anti-money laundering and fraud prevention. It might not sound as exciting as finding someone their perfect mortgage, but it’s a vital part of what we do. We take the protection of our clients (and the industry) seriously, so our team is always up to date on the latest rules, regulations, and best practices.
